My name is Ross Wilson, and before Auto Hauler Gear ever existed, I was behind the wheel learning this industry the same way most of us do. One load, one lesson, and one long day at a time.

As a company driver and later an owner-operator running my own Boydstun 10 car carrier, I quickly realized that some of the best equipment on the road was either hard to find or priced higher than it needed to be. Boydstun Equipment's hooks were a game changer but hard to get. Grip sleeve material adhered incredibly well but often felt too long, and the opposing side fabric seemed useless. These things had to be fixed and I knew other operators needed access to them too.

I understood the costs that come with this industry - truck payments, fuel, tires, insurance, permits, maintenance, damage claims, and everything in between. Premium quality straps shouldn't have to cost a fortune, and they shouldn't be engineered to wear out after just a few months to force you into buying more.

That’s what led to Auto Hauler Gear.

Low Pro Hook HD: This innovative design is based on the original Boydstun-style hook. Created to dramatically increase strength over the original and reduce or virtually eliminate transport damage to wheels, tires, paint, and aluminum trailer decking. The Low Pro Hook’s smooth, low-profile edges prevent accelerated strap wear caused by the sharp edges and bulky design of traditional swivel J hooks.

DUO: The "Duo" name comes from its specialized dual-braided webbing design, which maximizes tension strength and abrasion resistance.

AHG Cleats: Auto Hauler Gear’s Original low-profile tire grip or tread grip designed to improve traction and strap stability during vehicle transport. They are based around the industry standard grip sleeves with a throwback to the versatility of rubber blocks. Built with rubber tread on both sides, these three 3.5 inch block allows the operator to more easily spread strap traction across tire tread or slide them up and out of the way.
